Jacob Thorp

Jacob Thorp PT, DHS, OCS, CMTPT, MTC is an assistant instructor. He graduated both PTA and PT schools in 1996 and 2001, respectively. He worked full-time as a clinician, until 2007 when he joined East Carolina University. Currently, Dr. Thorp is Professor and Founding Director of the Physical Therapy Program at Charleston Southern University in North Charleston, SC. He earned his OCS, Manual Therapy Certification for University of St. Augustine, DHS from the University of Indianapolis, and CMTPT from Myopain Seminars. His research interests include manual therapy interventions and outcome data as related to TMJ and spinal impairments and dysfunctions. He prepares a quarterly myofascial pain literature review for the Journal of Bodywork & Movement Therapies together with Jan Dommerholt and others.
