Full Course Description

The MTT-1 (Upper Body) course features an introduction to the history of trigger points and myofascial pain. Theory components (primarily through home-study video modules) feature the clinical aspects of myofascial pain, peripheral and central sensitization, the etiology and scientific basis of myofascial pain, and manual trigger point therapy.

During the in-person weekend, many upper body muscles commonly associated with myofascial symptoms in clinical practice will be addressed. Students will review the anatomy, function, precise palpation, and manual therapy techniques for each muscle.

NOTE: starting in 2024, the MTT course program will consist of three courses with the certification exams on the last day of MTT-3.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for Manual Trigger Point Therapy 1 (MTT-1).
